#ThursdayThought – Watch Your Default

lazy dog

Everyone has a default mode.

For some it’s just about getting the task done, with little regard for trying to improve.

For others, it’s ripping into people when performance is lacking.

Some people listen to online learning about new processes or products, then go back to playing the same 1-string guitar of their sale pitch. (You see much of this on social media today).

Some binge watch or binge eat. Others just shut down when the pressure’s on.

Our default modes typically hinder us, prevent us from growing, hamper us from moving the needle.

Default modes are our comfort zones. And our comfort zones never make anything better. That includes us as individuals.

Our challenge is today is to be self-aware and break out of our default mode.

Know the meta of your modus operandi, and determine to do differently in a way that stretches you and makes the most impact.

Purpose to reset your default mode to one that challenges you to grow and impact your sphere of influence.
